20 May 2026 Artist Aydan Mammadova’s live performance took place at Today Art Museum in Beijing, China. During the performance, she created a large-scale painting in her signature style, bringing together elements of traditional Chinese and Azerbaijani architecture beneath the symbolic image of a pomegranate. For the artist, the pomegranate represents the world, while its seeds symbolize people united through shared history and culture. Created primarily with her hands, the painting conveys exceptional energy, movement, and emotional expression. The performance became a symbol of cultural dialogue between Azerbaijan and China and was witnessed by diplomats, including ambassadors from five countries. Today, the artwork is part of the private collection of Today Art Museum.
